Soft and Stretchy for Maximum Performance
Wool is often thought of as "itchy". That is because many wool products use coarse, thick fibers which are stiff and irritating to nerves in the skin. At PULSE Activewear, we use premium Merino wool fibers, which are extremely fine and flexible, and eliminate the "itchiness" associated with traditional wool.
By using premium Merino wool, we are able to create apparel that is so comfortable that even babies can wear it next to their skin without being irritated. In fact, did you know that medical studies have proven that Merino wool bedding improves the sleep patterns of babies resulting in increased weight gain and generally improved levels of contentment? It has also been shown that swaddling a baby in a Merino wool blanket is likely to lower the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). What does this mean to you? Simply that our premium Merino wool is soft and comfy and not itchy. We're so confident that you'll find our Merino wool apparel "baby soft" that if for whatever reason you find our apparel to be itchy or uncomfortable, simply return it and we'll refund your money.
Another important comfort factor for fitness apparel is to have fabric that is able to conform and move with a person's dynamic body motions. Merino fibers are naturally elastic. In fact, when wet, a Merino fibre can be extended up to 30% without damage and when the force is removed the fibre will recover its original dimensions completely. Polyester does not come close to this performance! What this means is that our Merino wool apparel stretches with the wearer no matter how hot and sweaty that person gets during exercise, but then returns to its natural shape, so there is less chance of garments sagging or losing their shape.
